Dear Ladner Elementary Families,
In my 20 years as an educator I can truly say that this has been a year like no other. Last summer, the thought of restructuring our school into zones & cohorts with bells that signalled alternating schedules, seemed daunting. As a team, we were committed. We knew the well being of our community depended on us to create a safe & positive place of learning. Families, we relied on you to conduct health checks and shift your norms about the way school has always operated. You stayed positive during the darkest days of January and your children motivated us to rise to new challenges. You have all made a valuable contribution toward our community’s objectives and we are better off for it.
For those families who have children moving on to High School or different schools, we wish you well. Please hold a place in your heart for your LE days. We will also be saying farewell to the following Teachers and Education Assistants: Mme Jacobs, Mme Dockerill, Mrs. Nakagawa, Mme Li, Mme Seguin, Mr. Hamaura, Ms. Feeny, Ms. Malone, Ms. Enriquez-Mendez, and Ms. Furlong.
As we say good-bye to the 2020/2021 school year, we will always remember it as the year we came together….2 metres apart! Thank you for your support, smiles and words of kindness this year. It has meant a lot to us.
Have a wonderful summer!
Ms. Carleton Gaines
